Gelato vs Ice Cream

While gelato and ice cream may look similar, they’re actually quite different. Gelato is made with more milk and less cream, which gives it a lower fat content and a lighter texture. It’s also churned at a slower speed, introducing less air, so it’s denser and silkier than ice cream. This slower churning process makes each scoop feel smooth and luxurious, while still being refreshing.

Another key difference is in the serving temperature. Gelato is stored and served slightly warmer than ice cream, allowing its flavours to shine through more intensely. Where ice cream can sometimes feel heavy, gelato is designed to be enjoyed daily, bursting with flavour, creamy yet light, and always satisfying. It’s not just a dessert; it’s an experience rooted in Italian tradition.
